Each double-walled glass cup is blown from a high-borosilicate pipe, and the glass is lighter than other single glass cups.
This short video shows how our new double-walled cup is being made. As you will see, the double-walled glass cups we offer are 100% mouth-blown and hand-made. So every glass cup is unique because every cup is poured with the enthusiasm and love of the workers.
What is the point of double-walled glass?
The double-walled glass is glass within a glass. The air between the two-layer glass is sucked out when it is made, creating a vacuum. Instead of having a heating or cooling element to keep drinks hot or cold, it is designed to keep beverages at the correct temperature by not allowing heat to escape or enter.
1. Material-high borosilicate glass
The double-walled glasses are made of high-borosilicate pipe, one reason why they are lighter than ordinary glass. According to the size and weight of blown glass, select the appropriate glass tube material, eliminate the residual pipe material, and select high-quality pipe material for blowing. Diameter, wall thickness, weight, impurity, and roundness are all requirements for inspecting raw materials.
2. Draw Bench
Formulate the length of the drawing distance with the draw bench machine input draw bench wire according to the blowing machine’s size.
3. The first cleaning
Before preparing to blow glass, we must clean the borosilicate tube after drawing the bench to facilitate the next process.
4. Blowing the inner layer cup
The pulled silk is calcined on the fire until it melts and then goes into the mold for blowing.
5. Blowing the outer layer cup
When you finish blowing the inner layer cup, then you start blowing the outer layer cup.
6. Cut the mouth
Blow out the tire wire and remove the residual material.
7. The second cleaning
This step requires the glass to be cleaned again.
8. Prick a hole at the bottom of the outer cup
Double-walled glasses cups are usually hand-blown, and the middle layer is not a vacuum.
There is an air hole at the bottom of the glass to vent the gas. And the hole can prevent the glass from deformation and bursting when the worker blows them.
9. Weld Mouth
The two spare tires with good burst mouth are weld mouth, and the inner and outer two cup tires are burned and dissolved through high temperature to be heated fully, evenly, without waves and bubbles.
10. Annealing
After the welding mouth, the double-walled glass will be put in the annealing oven to annealing.
11. Sealing the hole in the bottom
Each double cup has a small hole in the bottom, and we need to seal it to keep it hot or cold for a long time.
12. Quality Checking
Our internal inspection team generally carries out product quality inspections and third-party inspections sent by the customer.
13. Packing
The worker will clean the glass again when the inspection is finished and pack it up in the master carton.
14. Perfect double-walled glass cup
The perfect double-walled Glass Cup was born.
